Lime swirls, correctly called Ostwald’s-Liesegang space supersaturation-nucleation-depletion cycle, is an unusual marking that can sometimes be found in lime mortar joints.
They occur in mature limes, rich in calcium or magnesium. They are not very common, so do look out for them.
