This was a new observation for me at Queens University, Belfast.
This is a folded zinc window from 1848. I’ve never seen one before, and it seems no one else has either!
They were apparently impossible to repair and remake now using modern tooling! Solid zinc replicas have been made at a cost of about £7000 each.
