Within the last few years there have been several new devices sold as an apparently high-tech cure for dampness in old buildings. They claim to use magnetic waves (or so it seems!) to remove all dampness in a building. The sales technique and marketing literature is very slick and could easily manipulate and mislead the elderly and vulnerable and those unable to make an informed decision based on the facts and real science. Do not be fooled. If you are concerned about elevated moisture levels in your house then do seek impartial professional advice from a building conservationist who actually understands the facts and can look at the pathology of your property and make some realistic suggestions. These suggestions will not include this device or drilling holes in the wall to inject chemicals.
